You’ve heard the buzz, now see for yourself.

The Discovery (Netflix)
The 2017 Sundance Film Festival is coming to a close, and now we await the release of all the buzzed-about movies. As usual a lot of titles are left without distribution, while others may continue on the fest circuit a while. But with so much of this year’s program being acquire by outlets like Netflix and Amazon, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to watch some of the Sundance favorites very soon, and from your own home.

I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore (US Dramatic Competition) – Macon Blair’s directorial debut was one of the first films screened at the fest this year, and it’ll be one of the first we get to see, starting February 24th (add it to your list).

Burning Sands (US Dramatic Competition)— Netflix is not only distributing but also produced this drama set during a college’s Hell Week. It drops on March 10th (add it to your list).

Deidra & Laney Rob a Train (Next)— Want to watch a teen train-robbery comedy on St. Patrick’s Day? This one becomes available March 17th (add it to your list).

The Discovery (Premieres) – Another Netflix production, Charlie McDowell’s follow-up to The One I Love is a mysterious sci-fi romance involving the proof of an afterlife and it starts streaming on March 31st (add it to your list).

SPRING

Casting JonBenet (US Documentary Competition)— This hybrid documentary focused on the legacy of JonBenet Ramsey’s murder will be available soon (add it to your list).

The Mars Generation (Kids) – This Time Inc. documentary about space travel to Mars will hit sometime in the next few months (add it to your list).

Berlin Syndrome (World Cinema Dramatic Competition) – This Australian thriller will be available later this year following a theatrical release from Vertical Entertainment.

Chasing Coral (US Documentary Competition) – Jeff Orlowski’s tropical follow-up to Chasing Ice will be available later this year.

Fun Mom Dinner (Premieres) – This comedy will first get a theatrical release from eOne Entertainment’s Momentum Pictures then become available later this year.

Icarus (US Documentary Competition) – This documentary about a Russian sports scandal will get a simultaneous awards-qualifying theatrical release at the same time it’s available to stream.

The Incredible Jessica James (Premieres) – This New York rom-com will be available later this year.

Joshua: Teenager vs. Superpower (World Cinema Documentary Competition) – This documentary about one teenager who started a movement against Chinese rule in Hong Kong will be available later this year.

Nobody Speak: Hulk Hogan, Gawker and Trials of a Free Press (US Documentary Competition) – This documentary centered around the trial that ended Gawker will be available later this year.

To the Bone (US Dramatic Competition) – This comedy/drama from Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) starring Lily Collins and Keanu Reeves will be available later this year.

Long Strange Trip (Amazon)

MAY

Long Strange Trip (Documentary Premieres) – This four-hour Grateful Dead documentary will stream as a six-part miniseries in the US and UK, free for Prime members, beginning May 26th.

The Big Sick (Premieres) – This autobiographical comedy from Kumail Nanjiani and Michael Showalter will get a theatrical release then will stream free for Prime members.

City of Ghosts (US Documentary Competition) – Matthew Heineman’s Cartel Land follow-up about the rise of ISIS will likely get a theatrical release first, and it will air on A&E before or after it begins streaming free for Prime members.

This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous (Documentary Premieres)— From Barbara Kopple (Harlan County USA), this documentary about transgender YouTube star Gigi Gorgeous premieres on YouTube via the YouTube Red SVOD service on February 8th, following its limited theatrical release.

FEBRUARY

Trumped: Inside the Greatest Political Upset of All Time (Documentary Premieres) – This political documentary from the team behind the series The Circus will debut on Showtime on February 3rd with Showtime On Demand beginning the following day.

Oklahoma City (Documentary Premieres) – This documentary on the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and the rise of the white nationalist movement premieres on PBS as part of the American Experience series on February 7th following a limited theatrical release.

XX (Midnight) – This anthology horror film directed only by women is getting a limited theatrical release with same-day VOD from Magnet on February 17th.

This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous (Documentary Premieres)— From Barbara Kopple (Harlan County USA), this documentary about transgender YouTube star Gigi Gorgeous is getting a weeklong theatrical release in NYC and L.A. on February 3rd, just ahead of its YouTube VOD premiere.

Frantz (Spotlight) – Francois Ozon’s loose remake of Broken Lullaby opens in NYC via Music Box Films on March 15th.

Their Finest (Spotlight) – This World War II movie from Lone Sherfig (An Education) gets a limited release from STX Entertainment on March 24th

Wilson (Premieres) – Craig Johnson and Daniel Clowes’s adaptation of Clowes’s graphic novel starring Woody Harrelson is getting a limited release from Fox Searchlight on March 24th.

APRIL

Colossal (Spotlight) – Nacho Vigalando (Timecrimes) wrote and directed this sci-fi movie starring Anne Hathaway and Neon is releasing it April 7th.

Lady Macbeth (Spotlight) – Roadside Attractions is releasing this adaptation of “Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk” in limited release on June 2nd.

Brigsby Bear (US Dramatic Competition) – Sony Pictures Classics will release this drama from SNL’s Kyle Mooney on July 28th.

An Inconvenient Sequel (Documentary Premieres) – Paramount is putting the new Al Gore climate change documentary in wide release on July 28th.

The Little Hours (Midnight) – Gunpowder & Sky will release Jeff Baena’s convent-set comedy starring Alison Brie and Dave Franco.

Step (US Documentary Competition) – Fox Searchlight will release this documentary about an inner-city high school step team.

Thoroughbred (Next) – Focus Features will release this drama featuring Anton Yelchin in his final role.

The Yellow Birds (US Dramatic Competition) – Warner Bros. will release this Iraq War movie starring Tye Sheridan, Jack Huston, and Alden Ehrenreich.
