Junkfood Cinema Podcast: The Last Boy Scout

By  · Published on May 19th, 2016

We celebrate Shane Black’s new movie the only way we know how.

In honor of The Nice Guys, Cargill & I look back on one of our deep-fried Shane-Black-penned favorites: The Last Boy Scout!

The king of the “cruddy cop” movie, Black delivers a razor sharp script that was then expertly directed by Tony Scott and paired an unlikely, but excellent duo of Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans as a private eye and former sports star trying to solve a sports betting corruption case.

The extra hardboiled story, parade of stellar character actors meeting grisly ends, and oddly prescient themes make The Last Boy Scout a standout piece of noir cinema. Download, listen, and share! And don’t fast-forward through the podcast…that eats the tape.

You should follow Brian (@Briguysalisbury), Cargill (@Massawyrm), and the show (@Junkfoodcinema).

(Quick note: We’re now embedding the Soundcloud version of the show, but you can still download every episode via iTunes or your favorite podcatching service!)
