Introducing One Perfect Podcast: 3 New Shows Premiere This Week

By  · Published on March 20th, 2017

Plus: A lot more ‘Alien,’ the first photo of Luke Skywalker, and the weekend’s best shots.

This week marks the start of a great new chapter in the history of Film School Rejects/One Perfect Shot, as we’re pleased to present the premiere episodes of our first three shows under the new One Perfect Podcast banner.

Up first and available today, After the Credits, a new kind of movie review show hosted by FSR Columnist Matthew Monagle. Each week Matthew will be joined by a special guest to help him explore our expectations of certain films and how they impact the way we feel about what we ultimately see in theaters. This week the special guest is FSR Chief Film Critic Rob Hunter, and the film in question is The Belko Experment.

Then on Wednesday, March 22nd, the first episode of Shot by Shot drops. Hosted by OPS founder Geoff Todd and myself, FSR Video Content Editor H. Perry Horton, each week this show will explore the perfect shots of particular films, occasionally engaging in conversation with the cinematographers who shot them. For our first episode we’ve selected a film many consider to have the best cinematography of all-time: Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, shot by Geoffrey Unsworth and John Alcott.

And finally on Friday, March 24th FSR boss Neil Miller will release the first episode of his show The Big Idea in which he’ll wrangle some of the industry’s most talented minds to help him discuss what’s on his mind as the biggest media topic of the week. And as that week hasn’t started yet, just what he’ll be talking about is still a mystery, so you’ll have to tune in to see.

Each of these shows are approximately half-an-hour long and release weekly, so you’re going to want to subscribe on iTunes, Stitcher, or wherever you catch podcasts right away to be sure you’re not missing a movie-filled minute. And don’t forget to follow the new Twitter account @oneperfectpod for the latest news on upcoming episodes.

For a taste-test, check out a special episode of After the Credits available only to members in which Matthew and Rob take a look at Logan.
