Roy’s voiceover states that he remains committed to the lawful completion of the mission. If necessary, he will destroy the project in its entirety. Is he trying to convince us or himself?
That said, there’s going to be some dangerous obstacles to overcome. In outer space, there are threats lurking in the darkness and they’ll be out to prevent Roy from completing the task at hand.
In the closing moments of the trailer, Roy once again confirms that he has a job to do and the fate of all existence is in his hands. Sutherland’s character asks, “Are you ready?” Roy tells him that he is, but it remains to be seen if that’s really the case.
