Variety is reporting that Norrington has signed on to write and direct a remake of The Crow, a film best known for the death of star Brandon Lee.
Platinum Dunes’ remake machine can’t be kept down for long. After acknowledging that their plans for a Near Dark reboot have been scrapped due to it’s remarkable similarity to Twilight, the production company has green-lit a start date for their re-imagining of A Nightmare On Elm Street.
Sure, Twilight successfully lowered the bar dramatically when it comes to the quality of bestselling fiction and film. But it also may have put a stop to an unnecessary remake, so that’s a plus.
Fox is hoping to recreate the magic with a remake of Romancing the Stone, and have tapped Daniel McDermott to write it. So what does this tell us? Besides the obvious that Hollywood is brain-dead I mean.

Bong Joon-ho’s blockbuster 2006 film, The Host, has found a home for its inevitable US remake. Gore Verbinski has brought the film to Universal Pictures.
