I’m not sure this is what Jeffrey Katzenberg’s was referring to when he said the 3-D revolution was coming fast and hard (paraphrasing slightly). A Hong Kong filmmaker has announced plans for 3-D Sex & Zen, a film he claims is the world’s first 3-D erotic movie.

We decided not to make the headline: Writer Steps into Puss’ Boots or some variation thereof because every other outlet is doing that.

Just last month Scott Derrickson’s remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still actually made the box-office stand still and grossed a mere $80 million. That’s fantastic bank for a small film about a quirky, pregnant teenager or an Indian teenager winning millions on a game show, but for a high profile sci-fi remake with big name stars it only barely covers the production costs.

Trouble Maker Studios is heading up a reboot, and there might be more than one predator hunting us. Figure that one out.

This isn’t necessarily new news, but it does move recent rumors into the realm of official announcement. Universal has hired Ronald Moore to write the big-budget “remake/re-imagining/prequel” of John Carpenter’s The Thing.

Joe Carnahan is taking the helm for Fox’s A-Team. We promise not to say anything about pitying the fool.
