Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Breakdown – Meet Mr. Beck

The friendly neighborhood just got a whole lot bigger.

Screen Shot At Am

Beck knocks back a beer in a pub while Parker sips on an orange juice. He asks the kid, “What do you want?” He wants to live his life. He wants to go back on his school trip and tell M.J. how he feels about her. He wants the simple things, but he’s Spider-Man. This duality is the bane of his existence. He will never be comfortable with it.

What might make his superhero life more tolerable is the fact that everyone he cares about in the world knows his secret identity? Ned was the first, then came Aunt May, and now Parker discovers that M.J. is totally aware of his vigilante side hustle. The days of a pair of glasses masking a hero’s identity are over. “It’s kinda obvious.”

A giant elemental creature that appears to be a collection of the Sand-Man, the Molten-Man, and the Hydro-Man rips apart Tower Bridge.

Mysterio agrees with Parker, “You’re right. We might not be ready, but this is my responsibility.” He zips and zaps around, flashing his green light and rocking that gorgeous fishbowl helmet. He’s a lot of bold talk. “Saving the world requires sacrifice.” Yeah. No way we can trust him.

“Sometimes people die,” he continues. Beck is playing into the final actions of Tony Stark. His B.S. makes sense to the kid who lost his idol, but Parker needs to become his own man. That’s what Stark would want for his whizkid.

What did Parker see behind Stark’s glasses? Did the A.I. Friday just reveal the true motivations of Mysterio? I think so.
