Parody of Ice and Fire: ‘Games of Thrones’ Meets ‘Frozen’

With the grand tradition of wasting time on a Friday (your job’s not that important), and the grand tradition of blending two popular things together, it’s unsurprising that there are two Game of Thrones/Frozen mash-ups competing for pre-weekend internet dominance. It’s also surprising that we haven’t mashed up those two grand traditions more often. They seem made for one another.

The question now is which Game of Thrones parody video will win the day.

In this corner, we’ve got Daenerys, Jon Snow and (ahem) Mad King Joffrey belting out “Let It Go” as a means to assert their dominance over Westeros. In the other corner, we’ve got the Cast of Kings crew using new “Let It Go” lyrics to lovingly mock the show (and the amount of beards on it).

Who’s parody sheen will reign supreme? Watch them both for yourself:

Suggested follow-ups:

  1. “Let My Dragons Go”
  2. Anna and Elsa singing “The Rains of Castamere”
  3. Frozone from The Incredibles punching a dragon

Suggested follow-ups:

  1. Shoving the syllables of “Los Pollos Hermanos” into “Let It Go”
  2. “Walking Dead…Walking Dead…You’ve got to shoot its hea-eh-ead.”
  3. Picking any other Adele Dazim song to use.

Game of Thrones is back Sunday, and it’s doubtful that anything huge or game-changing or life-altering will happen on it this week. Until it does. Neil’s been chronicling its steady pace of killing everyone you care about, so he’s probably got the entire Frozen soundtrack stuck permanently in his head by this point. I hear if you do mental math or sing the song all the way through you can push it out of your mind.

Good luck with that.
