According to Deadline Hollywood, Nic Cage has signed on for I Am Wrath, the story of a man who gets so frustrated by the inept and corrupt police force investigating his wife’s murder that he goes vigilante. Just like in Death Wish. Or Vigilante.
So it’s not exactly a new idea on the surface, but the prospect of Cage aggressively acting a role like this is loaded with potential, especially if William Friedkin, who is apparently circling the project, decides to land.
It would make a great crime partnership. The question is how much Friedkin would reel Cage in. Hopefully just enough to make things intense without going full Snake Eyes.
