‘Hunger Games’ Gets a (Motion) Poster You Can Light On Fire

Please don’t actually hold your lighter up to the screen to try this at home. Seriously. Put it down.

This new motion poster for The Hunger Games features the main icon of the series – the Mockinjay Pin – which explodes in flames, but there’s no need to describe it here since it’s probably roasting below right now. Plus, if a picture is worth 1,000 words, this is technically worth 34,000,000.

And, honestly, would you put that lighter away?

The Hunger Games is the latest adaptation of a wildly popular YA novel, directed by Gary Ross, and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth and Donald Sutherland.

It will be interesting to see how well the films do (considering their place within the new-ish trend of young adult franchises), but the prospect of seeing children compete in a violent, death-causing grudge match has an appeal that can definitely make the cross-over, and Ross has proven himself to be a mature, thoughtful director with a keen sense of story that should help him to create something memorable.

Now who brought marshmallows?
