‘Catwoman’ Writer to Produce Generic-Sounding Rom-Com

You probably don’t know the name John Rogers, and if you do, he’s probably your dentist or the guy that mows your lawn or something. The John Rogers I speak of is the brilliant creative mind that gave us the screenplays for The Core and Catwoman. He even got a story credit on the first Transformers! Huzzah!

Apparently, this genius of literary note is set to produce a romantic comedy from (long-time listener) first-time writer Jonathan Abrams called The Wedding Doctor.

At first glance, it may seem as though the story will involve someone doing surgery on three-tiered cakes, but The Hollywood Reporter informs us that the plot ill actually focus on a woman who gets cold feet before her wedding, only to turn to a wedding doctor to investigate as to whether she’s marrying the right man.

I’ll give you three guesses as to whether she is, and the first two don’t count.

That’s right – you guessed it. The wedding doctor himself falls in love with her! With a twist!

I personally see this as Debra Messing’s chance to re-enter the film world alongside, oh, let’s say John Stamos just for kicks.

Anyway, if sometime next year you’re in the mood to watch a montage where a man and woman do flirtatious stuff that builds into an awkward almost-kiss while they’re supposed to be exploring her feelings for her fiance, this one sounds like it’s right up your alley.

What do you think? Why?
