Ahoy amateur and pro filmmakers alike! It’s early in the year to be thinking about the headache of finding financing, stirring up that fake blood, and tricking young idiots into carrying around apple boxes for free, but you should. If you do, you might be greatly rewarded with the sweet, succulent sound of an audience laughing, crying, or peeing their pants at the sights and sounds of your artistic endeavors.

That’s right, friends. The Austin Film Festival has officially put out its call for entries.

Get excited. Here are some details:

{WHY SHOULD YOU ENTER?}

AFF puts your film in front of the right people. In past years, film competition juries have included a mix of filmmakers, film critics, festival programmers, and representatives from major media companies such as MGM, Paramount Vantage, Adult Swim, Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios. These are the people you want viewing your film. Enter the contest and give them the chance.

AFF was picked by MovieMaker Magazine as one of its “25 Festivals Worth The Fee” stating that, “…the festivals that are worth your fee and your time can make all the difference in your burgeoning career.”
