A Quick Note About Site Down Time

Remember all of those database and wacky 404 errors you got yesterday while trying to visit the site? They weren't an early April Fool's Joke. But it does make you wonder what we'll pull for Wednesday huh?

Morning, Rejects. Good to see you again. As you may have realized, over the past 24 hours, the main site has been down – leaving you deprived of the depressing movie news and ill-formed opinions that you’ve come to love from us. Basically, Neil and I both decided to go to the park and didn’t realize that we could have left the internet up the whole time we were gone. Normally, one of us is vigilantly sitting at a computer making sure the internet is alright.

So that’s a lie. In reality, the site needed some serious maintenance which includes double the RAM – a computer thing that I’m told will magically make the site funnier or clairvoyant or at least make it load a bit faster while it handles more visitors. We’ve been growing pretty steadily thanks to all of you guys, and the server needed a nap.

In hindsight, we probably should have warned you so you could have had time to steal a copy of Variety from the former-banker who’s using it as a blanket in order to get your film news fix. We promise that we’ll do that from now on. Seriously. We’ve changed. We’re gonna love you so much better now.
