There is a bonus Destiny Child’s song in here.

A new trailer for Tomb Raider starring Alicia Vikander has arrived. The upcoming movie is based on the video games Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider featuring heroine Lara Croft and goes back to the beginning of her adventures. Everything in this iteration of the character is from those games, including her outfit and the scenario. This second official trailer for the adaptation does a much better job of showcasing the turmoil that Lara (Vikander) will have to face on her journey.

Warner Bros.’ interpretation of the story has Lara starting off as a young woman without any real purpose. Although she does have opportunities in front of her, she has become transfixed on discovering the fate of her father (Dominic West), who disappeared years earlier. That quest for answers brings Lara onto a mythical island outside of Japan where she will face hardships she could’ve never imagined.

Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father’s global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he’s truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.

Leaving everything she knows behind, Lara goes in search of her dad’s last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous. Suddenly, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown. If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name tomb raider.

With the casting of Vikander as Lara Croft, there was quite a bit of excitement over the prospect of a great Tomb Raider film. With this new trailer, anticipation has been rekindled because it does a much better job of developing the character. And even though slowing down pop songs for dramatic effect in trailers has become incredibly common, no one can complain about a little Destiny’s Child. Vikander and West are joined in the cast by Walton Goggins, Daniel Wu, and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Tomb Raider opens in theaters on March 16th.
