Sadly, New ‘Lost Boys: The Thirst’ Trailer Does Not Feature A Zombie Corey Haim

Finally, another vampire movie is on the way!

I could have just as easily opened with “Finally, another Corey Feldman movie is on the way!” and the effect would probably be the same. But dammit, we’re here to talk about a new trailer for the second Lost Boys sequel so let’s get to it.

Lost Boys: The Thirst is the follow-up to the poop-fest that was The Tribe, and it focuses on the return of The Frog Brothers as they battle against a vampire menace. Feldman and Jamison Newlander return as Edgar and Alan Frog who reunite when a dangerous new vampire threat comes to town in the form of a sexy and happening night club. If you recall from the craptastic first sequel, The Tribe, Alan was nowhere to be found and Edgar had to carry on without him. (That is of course unless you watched the deleted scenes featuring Alan as a vampire himself…) Now the brothers are back in action and loaded for vamps… check out the new trailer below.

First thought… The Thirst actually looks like a pretty solid action/horror film. Second… it’s still missing the joy and element of fun that the original film has in spades. At this point the Lost Boys name is only relevant for the recognition factor, but I find it curious that these sequels aren’t even attempting to add real humor or personality. It’s a given they wouldn’t live up to the fun of Joel Schumacher’s original, but would it kill them to try?

Lost Boys: The Thirst will obviously be heading straight to DVD but as of yet there’s no release date.

What do you think of the trailer? And admit it… a zombie Corey Haim would have been cool.
