A mashup of nostalgic proportions.

I don’t know about you, but if when I was a kid someone had told me there was a movie that combined the characters of Raiders of the Lost Ark with Star Wars, my little head would have exploded like Alderaan. And though in reality the closest we’ll likely ever come to this dream-mashup is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – that’s about aliens, right? – in the world of videomaking our collective prayers have been answered by editor Fabrice Mathieu, who has painstaking combined the two movies mentioned above into a seamless and oddly coherent six-minute adventure entitled – god I love this – Raiders of the Lost Darth. Genius.

I know what you’re probably thinking: how in the world do you combine an old-school adventure flick set in the 1930s with a sci-fi flick set in the deepest reaches of space? I’ll let the video answer that one for you, but suffice it to say, Mathieu leans heavier on the Raiders story with elements from Star Wars placed in the perfect moments, like the one pictured above with C-3PO’s head in lieu of the idol that opens the Indy film.

You’re probably going to want to watch this one a few times, so grab a snack, dim the lights and crank the volume.
