Gore Verbinski has signed on (per Variety) to direct a new cinematic incarnation of the board game for Universal.  Not content to simply rehash the campy take of the previous film, or apparently the actual content of the game itself, Verbinksi’s film will be turned into “a global thriller and transmedia event that uses deductive reasoning as its storytelling engine.”
