The ridiculously-epic tale of a dog’s (after)life.
I don’t know about you, but my favorite kind of fan theories are unified theories, you know, ones where people try to take all of a director’s, actor’s, or writer’s work and link them in a shared narrative. There’s The Pixar Theory, of course, and this incredible FSR article on how all Scarlett Johansson flicks are connected, and now I’ve stumbled upon another fascinating example, one that supposes a sort of sub-universe in the filmography of Tim Burton in which his animated films – the short Vincent, the later version of Frankenweenie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Corpse Bride – all inhabit the same universe and in fact form the epic if morbid tale of one dog.

I don’t want to give away too many details because most of the fun in hearing a fan theory is in the connective threads, but the overarching story unfolds in the order I listed the films in question, and the realms of both life and the afterlife come into play (it is Burton, after all).
