Cast Of ‘Paul’ Swells To Comedic Proportions With Addition Of Bateman, Rogen And More

Best comedy cast of 2010? Let’s see… Bateman, Frost, Hader, Lynch, Pegg, Rogen, Wiig…and possibly you if you’re wandering around Comic-Con.

One of next year’s highly anticipated comedies is Greg Mottola’s Paul written by and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The pair play sci-fi nerds on a road trip across the US with San Diego’s Comic-Con as their final destination. Along the way they pick up an alien named Paul. The premise sounds promising but the talent on both sides of the camera seals the deal. And now that talent pool has gotten even better.

Variety reports that the cast of Paul has grown to include Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, Jane Lynch, and Seth Rogen as the voice of the alien. So now we know the little extraterrestrial is going to sound angry and phlegmy at the very least. Four of those people are inherently hilarious so it’s hard to imagine this movie not being anything less than a laugh riot. Of course, Adventureland looked to be a laugh-filled comedy too…

Paul is expected to go before the cameras soon and may include some shooting at this summer’s Comic-Con in San Diego. Since the film is set to end at the movie geek mecca it only makes sense, and rumors abound that Pegg and Frost will be wandering the hallways in character. Paul is scheduled for release in 2010.

What do you think of Pegg and Frost working together without Edgar Wright?
