This adventure is in need of warriors. Are you ready?

Few lines have as much power for change as the ones spoken from Oprah Winfrey in the latest trailer for A Wrinkle in Time: “We are in search of warriors. Be a warrior.”

The catalyst for this brave and empowering movie? Director Ava DuVernay and her vision of inclusion. She has been a captivating talent for years and now has gotten her chance at a major motion picture. And A Wrinkle in Time is shaping up to be a winner for Disney and could signal the arrival of new franchise spearheaded by none other than Storm Reid.

Meg Murry (Reid) has had trouble accepting the disappearance of her father (Chris Pine), and it affects all facets of her life. Along with her little brother Charles Wallace (Deric McCab) and friend Calvin (Levi Miller) she goes on an adventure through different worlds in order to find her missing father. Their journey introduces them to three magical witches played by Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling, who help guide them through many trials along the way.

The new trailer comes on the heels of a behind the scenes look into the filming of A Wrinkle in Time and outlines the plot in greater detail than we’ve previously seen. The spot also shares many of the imaginative worlds Meg and her companions will visit.

Official Synopsis:

From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.

A Wrinkle in Time opens in theaters on March 9, 2018.
