The best trailers only hint at the wonders within the actual movie. They tease scenes and ideas that make choosing to skip the film an impossibility. They show imagery and invoke emotions through music and dialogue snippets that make you mark your calendar for the first opportunity to see it in full.

Well go ahead and make a note for September 20th-27th, because you’re going to want to see this one when it premieres at Fantastic Fest.

Check out the disturbingly beautiful NSFW trailer for Vanishing Waves below.

I’m sold.

The brief summary for the film states it’s about a scientist with a neurological research team who volunteers to experiment with a new technology allowing him access into the thoughts of a coma victim. A longer description (written by Luke Mullen!) can be found on its official Fantastic Fest page, but here’s a tease…

Vanishing Waves is a powerful sci-fi drama, with roots in films like The Cell and Inception while also calling to mind elements of Almodovar’s Talk to Her. The film features beautiful cinematography along with a fantastic score that perfectly underscore a great story. Modern, slick and stylish, Vanishing Waves is an incredible cinematic journey that will draw you in and keep you wanting more.”

Fantastic Fest will be blowing minds in Austin, Texas from September 20th through the 27th.
