Two Hogwarts Alums Find Projects Post-Potter

It would be perfect to see Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe sign on to films that have the same release date. At least, it would be fantastic for unimaginative headline writers and fans of sports betting.

The release dates are yet to be seen, but Radcliffe might have signed on for something new (and entirely new for him), and Felton is readying his first film after graduating from the school for witches and wizards.

For one, it’s the end of the world. For the other, it’s a life that will surely lead to drug abuse and multiple mistresses.

Radcliffe was never voted Class Clown during his tenure as Potter, and with choices like a re-make of All Quiet on the Western Front, it seemed like he’d stay squarely in the dramatic world, but he may be signing on for Jay and Seth vs The Apocalypse – a movie that is in no way connected to Jay and Silent Bob or striking back.

According to Cinema Blend, the movie is based off of a trailer that Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen made during film school. It feels a bit like the Odd Couple discovered the F-word and a nuclear holocaust happened outside their crappy apartment. So, absolutely fantastic. It’s unclear, however, how more than those two characters will factor into the universe unless they plan on leaving the apartment at some point and discarding their Buried-esque shooting challenge.

Also according to those lovable scamps at Cinema Blend, Felton will be joining on as “British golf hustler” for From the Rough. The indie biopic focuses on Catana Starks (played by Taraji P. Henson), the first female head coach of an NCAA Division 1 Men’s Golf Team. Hopefully her life will prove tumultuous because her claim to fame is not all that meaty (now that Tiger Woods is off his game and people have gone back to a general state of apathy for the sport).

It’s encouraging to see the young talent here branch out, especially Felton who really came into his own in the last Potter film. The only question left on everyone’s mind is, “What the hell is a British golf hustler?”

What say you?

What say you after watching the initial trailer for Jay and Seth?
