Star Wars: The Last Jedi Is a Fine Title

By  · Published on January 23rd, 2017

Imagine if someone had predicted the new Star Wars title months ago…

Earlier today, the official Star Wars social media accounts announced one thing that fans of the franchise have been trying to guess for months: the full title for Rian Johnson’s Episode VIII.

It’s a fine title that infers that the Jedi, as we know them, are in dire straights. We can also infer that Luke Skywalker is the last of his kind. Perhaps he’ll train the next of his kind? Perhaps he’ll try and lose his new pupil to The Dark Side, thus killing off the Jedi completely? Who knows ‐ no one has this kind of foresight. No one can predict what will come. It would be like if someone had predicted this title in April of 2016.

Cool.
