Behind the scenes of the charity event established by Aunt May (that we saw in the last trailer, but he was not wearing the Iron Spider suit there?? Those tricky, mischievous Marvel trailer editors!!), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) calls Parker’s phone. That’s the last person he wants to talk to at the moment, and the feeling is mutual for Happy Hogan. They attempt to ghost him. Yeah, that won’t work guys.

The first stop on their school trip is Venice, Italy. Here’s everyone’s favorite dope bully Flash Thompson (Tony Revolori) snatching selfies in St. Mark’s Square and mistakingly referring to it as St. Marco Polo’s. Come on, man. At least skim Wikipedia before revving up your live stream. He’s about two seconds away from Karmic justice enforced by the cheap-shotting fists of teenage maturity.

During the calm before the storm, Parker starts to suspect that M.J. (Zendaya) may like him as more than a friend. Young love is in the air, and naturally, that’s when Nick Fury will reveal himself and explain how the world is still on the brink of destruction, and only Spider-Man can save the day.

When Fury rings your number, you should answer. Otherwise, he’ll creep into your hotel room and dart your best friend in the neck. The two takeĀ a nice romantic tour of Venice. Parker is back in the classic Steve Ditko-inspired suit. He may have left the Iron Spider duds behind, but maybe Aunt May snuck these tights into his suitcase while he wasn’t looking. Even she knows that Parker cannot run from who he is.

Beneath Venice, Fury introduces Parker to Mr. Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal). He’s not from around here.

The two costumed gentlemen shake hands. Beck strokes Parker’s ego by saying, “We could use someone like you on my world.” Wait, what? Where are you from? Fury says that Beck is from Earth, but not ours. He continues to detail that the Snap(s) from Avengers: Endgame tore “a hole in our dimension.”
