Sigourney Weaver Will Suck Some Ladies In ‘Vamps’

Formica, go figure.

Amy Heckerling isn’t a name you hear too much of these days, but in her heyday she was one of the top female directors in Hollywood. Fast Times At Ridgemont High remains one of the best high-school comedies to combine crass and heart, Johnny Dangerously gave the world bastages and iceholes, European Vacation showed us Big Ben and Parliament, and she even revived John Travolta’s career (briefly, and years before Quentin Tarantino would do it again) with the Look Who’s Talking movies. Her biggest hit culturally speaking remains Clueless (it’s also her second-biggest film commercially) in which she paired up with Alicia Silverstone.

What does any of this have to do with Sigourney Weaver sucking on some lady friends you ask?

After Clueless, Heckerling only directed two films… Loser and I Could Never Be Your Woman. What? Exactly. But now she’s returning to the big screen with a movie that people may actually want to see. And she’s re-teaming with her (equally MIA) Clueless star, Alicia Silverstone.

Per Heat Vision, Heckerling will be writing and directing Vamps. The movie stars Silverstone and Krysten Ritter as New Yorkers who happen to be vampires. When one of them falls in love with a mortal their friendship and undead future comes into question. Weaver will star as the head vampire who immortalized the duo many years prior. Weaver plays a fantastic villain, see Working Girl for example, so this should be good fun.

The movie is in no way related to the awesome eighties flick of the same name that starred Chris Makepeace (My Bodyguard) and Grace Jones.

What do you think? Have vampire movies not run their course yet?
