She’s Out of My League Trailer: Girls Never Want the Moodle

Why would a 10 go for a 5? For me, this is something I’ve never really had experience with, as I’m clearly at least a 6.5 and I only date 8 and above (a likely reason for most of my life being spent relatively single).

But I digress. Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for She’s Out of My League, starring comedic star-of-tomorrow Jay Baruchel and newcomer Alice Eve. The film is about a lovable loser – an airport security guard (how timely) – who accidentally enters the life of a super-hot blonde after she forgets her iPhone at the terminal. A quaint tale, but one that also could bring a bit of raunch. The film has already earned an R rating for language and sexual content. This is good.

Beyond the R rating, this feels very stock. The trailer delivers several laughs, but isn’t overwhelmingly memorable. Baruchel is charismatic and dorky, and Eve is certainly the all-American head cheerleader type. Perhaps the most encouraging element of this production is that it comes from the two writers – Sean Anders and John Morris – who brought us 2008’s Sex Drive, a heavily underrated teen sex comedy that was more Porky’s than it was American Pie, in the good way. The first trailer doesn’t show the same spark, but remember that it’s green band and parred down for the children. Either way, it can be seen below.

She’s Out of My League is in theaters March 12, 2010.
