‘Rigor Mortis’ Trailer: A Chinese Bucket of Blood to the Face

In Rigor Mortis, director Juno Mak is attempting an homage to Chinese vampire movies of the 80s (with a little Shining imagery thrown in for good measure), and the result is the beautiful kind of insane.

Filled with shadow imagery, walls with chipping paint and plenty of vein juice, the trailer boasts a Hong Kong apartment building with human inhabitants that are creepy and inhuman inhabitants that wants to rip throats out.

This looks like a fun ride that needs a splash zone in the first few rows. Check out the trailer for yourself:

It looks like the tenants might be dealing with some nasty jiangshi here. It also looks like we might be calling Mak “Mr. Vampire” pretty soon.

Rigor Mortis doesn’t currently have a US release, but hopefully it will soon.
