You asked for it, we heard you, and now, after months of planning, months of prepping, weeks of formatting and years in the making, the one and only One Perfect Shot Database is here and it’s going to be bigger and better than you ever could have hoped for. Every single shot you see on our Twitter feed is now being stored – permanently – right here at our website. That means no more scrolling; every frame is now at your fingertips whenever you want it.
You can search by director, cinematographer, title, year of release, even the type of shot. Got a hankering for extreme close-ups? We got you. Want to see all the films Roger Deakins shot? We got you. Yearning for a trip through Wes Anderson’s most cinematic moments? Why are you even asking at this point? You know we got you.
There are a few hundred shots already loaded and more are going to be added every single day between now and the end of the world with the aim of making this the single greatest catalog of movie beauty in the whole wide web. But you know what? That’s only half of the story.
Because we’ve also added a Video Database as well, one that collects essays, supercuts, compilations, mashups, and montages from all over the internet and catalogs them in one handy place. Once again, the control is yours: you can search by video topic, video creator, and video type, and every single entry comes with a link to the original creators’ website – so you can check out more of their work – and our original Film School Rejects accompanying write-up in case you want to delve even deeper into the topic.
This database too is a work in a progress; already there are 400 videos loaded, dozens more are being added every week, and we want to hear what you think about them. Each video comes with a rating scale and a comments section for you to leave your civil, erudite thoughts. The shots DB too has a comments section, so let us know which ones you love.
