‘Rango’ Trailer is… What’s the ‘Rango’ Trailer?

Considering that we post movie news, almost every trailer we can find, and speculate wildly on film casting, we’re all about mystery here at FSR.

It’s because we, and the rest of the world, are so awash in information that we long for a movie that comes out of left field and hits us in the face. With a fish.

This new teaser trailer for Rango does exactly what it needs to do. It teases.

Check it out for yourself:

A desolate highway, a howling wind, an air-faring craft shaped like a fish that seems to be on it’s last, tiny little wheels.

It works wonders because it’s unusual, tells us almost nothing, and leaves us with more questions than answers.

The biggest questions is who is inside the fish-ship. According to the listing on Apple.com (where you can see the trailer in hi-def if you’d like), Rango is directed by Gore Verbinksi, and it looks like he’s got his usual Pirates in tow: Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy alongside Abigail Breslin, Isla Fisher, Stephen Root, Alfred Molina, and Ned Beatty. A stellar cast – ostensibly all lending their voice talents? Most probably.

Frequent collaborator James Ward Byrkit came up with the story with Verbinski, and Gladiator scribe John Logan wrote the script.

Interest is definitely piqued. Especially my interest in purchasing a flying fish.

What do you think?
