Shot by Shot with the ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ Trailer

The sequel to John Krasinski's 2018 horror breakout pushes past its post-apocalpytic premise to spotlight a new threat — the people left behind.
A quiet place part II

That’s the extent of the flashbacks we get in this trailer. Next, we see Evelyn slowly stepping out of the family’s farmhouse with Marcus, her daughter and eldest child, Regan (Simmonds), and her newborn son. This is presumably immediately after the events of A Quiet Place.

As the family leaves, the back half of their barn goes up in flames, while the string lights meant to signal danger glow red. It’s clear that, in the aftermath of the alien attack, this is no longer an ideal, safe place for them.

A series of shots show the Abbotts walking alone through their abandoned surroundings in search of shelter.

They arrive at a decrepit building surrounded by greenery. It appears to be near some sort of city (the film was shot in Buffalo, New York).

As the family steps through the fence surrounding the area, Evelyn’s ankle presses against a wire and triggers a booby trap. A large, loud bundle of empty beer cans and bottles drops down. Given that the sightless aliens who roam their world hunt humans by their sense of sound, this is not ideal! Someone clearly set the trap to deter intruders.
