The Bellas are back to show they are not a joke. For one last call.

It is no secret that Pitch Perfect has been running on fumes for some time now. Many of the stars, especially Anna Kendrick, are ready to move on to other franchises and films. Perhaps it is also the fact that Pitch Perfect 2 wasn’t all that great. That isn’t going to stop Universal from getting the girls together one last time for Pitch Perfect 3.

Being marketed as the last call for the Bellas, Pitch Perfect 3 finds the girls out of college and trying to make it in the real world. Needless to say, they all miss the days when they were singing in their acapella group and winning the World Championships. There just isn’t that many job opportunities out there for solo acapella acts. Thankfully for the girls, there is an overseas USO concert and they will be able to reunite one more time.

In addition to Anna Kendrick, Pitch Perfect 3 stars Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins and all the Barden Bellas.

Elizabeth Banks is not returning to the director’s chair for Pitch Perfect 3. Instead, it is directed by Trish Sie, who will be directing her second feature film after Step Up All In. When speaking to Entertainment Weekly in 2016, Banks said “We feel obligated to put out the absolute best movie… it’s really hard to figure out what the story is … we’ve been developing our asses off.” They were having issues on how to get the Bellas together one last time and it just didn’t fit into Banks schedule to direct.

Whether or not this is actually the last call for the Bellas, Pitch Perfect 3 hits theaters Dec. 22.
