Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood is an ode to the Hollywood and Los Angeles of yesteryear, and the film’s affection for the glory days is tangible in almost every frame of the trailer. The theater featured in the above scene is located on Sunset Boulevard to this day. It’s a small moment in the trailer, but once again Tarantino’s cinephilia is reflected in the minor details.

We then cut to Robbie and DiCaprio showcasing their dancing skills. The latter will be used as a meme for years to come.

We then see Cliff pick up an unnamed lady (Margaret Qualley). She asks if he’s an actor, to which he replies, “I’m a stuntman”. She seems impressed, but as we’ll later discover, she hangs out with the wrong crowd.

Cut to the stunt performer getting his ass handed to him by Bruce Lee (Mike Moh). In the late ’60s, Lee helped choreograph fight scenes for Hollywood movies, and it’s going to be interesting to see how the film portrays this overlooked aspect of the legendary martial artist’s early career. However, this also seems to be a look at his work on the TV series The Green Hornet.
