Nicolas Cage and other high-profile actors share their thoughts on up-and-coming filmmaker Jonathan Baker in this exclusive teaser trailer for Becoming Iconic.

Back in August I wrote about Inconceivable, a wacky movie starring Nicolas Cage and Gina Gershon that feels like it should have premiered on the Lifetime Movie Network. It’s an insane movie that you absolutely should watch. You may not like it, and that’s OK, but you will most certainly be entertained.

Inconceivable was directed by Jonathan Baker in what was essentially his directorial debut — back in the late 80’s he made a video short called Dirty Tennis. Baker’s journey in completing Inconceivable has been documented in the new film Becoming Iconic, and while he serves as the narrator along the way he gets some help from his friends — and that’s where Cage comes in. Cage is joined by the likes of Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, and more as they share their thoughts and opinions on Baker and where they see him headed as his career moves forward.

Becoming Iconic will have its world premiere at the Whistler Film Festival on December 1st as an official Documentary Selection. To hold you over until then, Film School Rejects has your exclusive look at the film’s teaser trailer!

Becoming Iconic delineates the perilous journey of first time filmmaker Jonathan Baker, narrated both by Jonathan directly and indirectly by Jodie Foster, Adrian Lyne, John Badham and Taylor Hackford, who share wisdom about first-time filmmaking perils. It’s an eccentric journey starting from a boy’s dream.
