More Inconvenience from Al Gore

If losing the Presidency means winning an Academy Award and A Nobel Peace Prize as consolation, then we should see John McCain on the arms of Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway by January of 2010.

If losing the Presidency means winning an Academy Award and A Nobel Peace Prize as consolation, then we should see John McCain on the arms of Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway by January of 2010. Apparently for Al Gore, living proof of karma’s existence, one award-winning documentary wasn’t enough.

From our close friends (and favorite news source of film geeks everywhere) The Hindu News Update Service comes the news that Gore plans on making a sequel to An Inconvenient Truth. Since his first outing didn’t immediately solve all of earth’s problems, I imagine the only plausible title for the sequel should be: No, Seriously, We’re All Going to Die if We Keep Destroying the Planet.

Gore also used the interview as a platform to say that the film raised awareness, that the people of the world still had a long way to go, and that George W. Bush is enemy #1 when it comes to “actively working against the cause”.

I’m really enthusiastic about Gore making another film, but I think he’s missing an obvious solution to the climate crisis:

Have Earth donate a massive amount of funds to the Republican Party and to George W. Bush. If the planet was considered one of Bush’s “Haves and Have Mores”, Bush would be forced to protect its interests and cut its taxes. Because, as we learned earliest this week, all politicians are Ballet-dancing Hitler Robots programmed to save Special Interests like Big Tobacco, Big Pharm, and now, Big Earth.

Plus, it will just be nice to get back to having real documentaries made and highly publicized.

Happy Belated Earth Day, Rejects.
