More 'Harry Potter 6' Posters Released, Theater Managers Cringe

I get the need to market, but there are just some films for which you don’t need 20+ original posters. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is one such movie, but spending all this money on marketing isn’t really going to help (or hurt) them at this point. Five new posters are out, and unlike the last round of posters, these are more centralized on putting the characters into specific moments in the film. And they center around the kids, not the adults. We have Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) entering his secret room that Harry spends much of the book trying to infiltrate, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright) looking like they’re ready to get some snoggin’ on, two particularly weird posters of Hermione (Emma Watson) looking more jealous and crazy than Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction, pining over Ron (Rupert Grint) in his dapper Quidditch uni, and one new poster of Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) wearing 3-D glasses – the poster you’re likely to see when Potter hits theaters in 3-D later this summer.

These posters are taking a lighter turn than the previous ones we’ve seen with Dumbledore, Harry, and the others looking like they’re gearing up for war. It’s nice to know that the film will be focusing on the kids still being kids, as the book was one of the more delightful entries in the series through the first 3/4 of it. I will say that either Luna has matured into a nicer-looking young lady or they are photo-shopping the hell our of her. I dunno, she almost looks CGI-ed in that poster.

Oh well. I don’t know how many more posters were in for, because we still have a month until the film’s release.

What do you think of these posters? Are you more or less likely to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince now or did you make your mind up over a year ago when the first trailer was released?
