Megan Fox Bulks Up, Michael Bay Talks Transformers 2

It was brought to my attention this evening that thanks to our excessive coverage of The Dark Knight, we have not made a post mentioning Michael Bay in over a week. And as any faithful FSR reader or well-bruised staffer will tell you — this is not acceptable. So without further ado (Mr. Bay despises ado), I have a Bay-related update for all of you.

But first, I would like to draw your attention to Megan Fox:

While the posting of the above picture may seem a bit arbitrary, I will ask you to bear with me. You see, the newly single Ms. Fox talked to Fox News yesterday that she was asked to gain weight for her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, as she had just recently dropped a bunch of weight for her role in the cheerleader slasher flick Jennifer’s Body. As well, Michael Bay demands her bod to be awesome, so she she had to lose the skinny girl look. And considering the picture above, she appears to be doing fine.

Megan also revealed some story details about the Transformers sequel, including some information about the timing of the film. According to her, the second film takes place a few years after the first one: “At this point Shia and I have been dating for two years so we’re at the bickering stage, like an old married couple.”

Director Michael BayAnd speaking of the supreme lord of awesome, Bay was cornered this week by Entertainment Weekly and forced to atone for some of the details that have been floating around about the forthcoming Transformers sequel. In a spot of pure brilliance, Bay mentioned that he is not looking at this film as the second piece to a three piece puzzle, but is looking to deliver a complete film:

“When we were writing the script, I said to the writers, “I hate sequels that try to make it to the third movie. Pretend like we’re never having a third movie, so let’s go for broke on the second one. I hate those cliffhangers! Let’s just make this movie stand on its own.” I really feel this movie is not a forced sequel.”

And for those of you out there in the anti-Bay camp: yes, he did actually say that. I know, I was amazed as well. Shortly after that, Bay once again confirmed that the campaign of leaking fake news is still on like donkey kong:

“I think the script is really good, and I think it’s got a lot of new stuff in it. There are a lot of rumors out there, but we’ve released a lot of fake stuff. We’ve done a really good job of keeping things secret.”

Bay goes on in the interview to talk a little bit about the Friday the 13th remake that his company Platinum Dunes is making, saying that its not a movie that he would ever show his mom. As well, he also talked about the still in development Ouija project — yes, they are still very serious about that.

For more on what Bay had to say (most of which is Friday the 13th related), check out the interview over on

What do you think about Transformers 2 being a complete film and not having a cliffhanger on the end?
