Lost: The Final Season — Episode 2 Video Blog

Editor’s Note: The following recap and video discussion include advanced plot details from the second episode of Lost, season 6. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you watch the episode before reading or watching any further.

Another week has gone by, and another episode of Lost has aired. And once again, the Reject HQ Lost Club has met to discuss the general happenings over several alcoholic beverages. This week saw another fast-moving episode that focused on two things: what happens to Kate (Evangeline Lilly) in both planes of existence, and where the hell Claire (Emilie de Ravin) went. As we were promised last week, some questions were answered – like… well… alright, so we know that Sayid (Naveen Andrews) isn’t dead, but that the Others are worried that he might be possessed by the smoke monster. Am I getting this right?

All-in-all, it was another episode that fails to close the book, but rather it just turns another page – in another book. But as complexity continues to build, some storylines are being fleshed out. Like the Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and his grief over the loss of Juliette. In one scene, Holloway delivers a performance worthy of 5 years of build-up. Now, if Sawyer could go back to being a badass, I think we’d all be in much better shape. Thus far the final season of Lost feels very unnatural, as the episodes seem to be meandering around from story to story without any one story feeling whole. But if we know anything about this show, it is that we will be paid back for patience. Either that, or Mr. Echo is going to come back at the end and kill everyone, nullifying every theory possible (except for my theory, which has Mr. Echo rising from the dead and leading a slaughter.)

Alas, lets get on with the video recap. As you read above, this entire bit will be filled with spoilers from this week’s episode, so we urge you to watch it, then come back and enjoy our little discussion. And perhaps even join in on the discussion in the comment section below. Back by popular demand are myself, Dr. Cole Abaius (@coleabaius), Culture Warrior Landon Palmer (@landon_speak), David Gunn (@phaedrus4223) and the lovely Emily Younger (@emilyofaustin). For the record, Dr. Abaius is drinking two bottles of Shiner Bock beer at once. That’s how things go in Texas.
