Chris Pratt is the only one who can save the dinosaurs from death. Again.

After the monstrous success of Jurassic World, it wasn’t a matter of if there was going to be a sequel, but rather when. Now we have the first footage from the follow-up, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return, and this time they must save the dinosaurs from a threat they haven’t faced in thousands of years. Volcanoes.

The island where the Jurassic World theme park was located is pretty much destroyed, and nothing is left except the dinosaurs. Howard is still pretty concerned about the dinosaurs there, and although they were created in test tubes they should still be considered as animals. So Pratt is invited back into the fold to rescue a raptor he raised from birth. Also returning to the Jurassic World family are BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum. The addition of Goldblum is great because he can make even the most dreary films fantastic, so having him return to the franchise in some fashion is awesome.

After a full week of building hype for the trailer, Universal finally released it, and well, dinosaurs are back! Really the whole joy of this series has devolved into seeing these mammoth beasts fighting against each other, so in that case, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom seems like it will bring the goods. J.A. Bayona takes over directing duties this time, so it will be interesting to see what he adds to the franchise this time around.

The full synopsis below:

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theaters on June 22, 2018.
