Junkfood Cinema: Snake’s Alive!

By  · Published on May 27th, 2015

Start spreadin’ the news! We’re beaming today! You’ll want to be a part of this…Escape from New York!

One of our all time favorite films finally has its name up in lights on the JFC marquee! John Carpenter’s post-apocalyptic (or dystopian, depending on how you look at it) sci-fi masterpiece proved that even the most crowd-pleasing genre drive-in fare could serve as a stage for true masters to shine. The cinematography, score, script, and performances in EFNY are absolutely superb, and Cargill and I break down each one with the fervor of President Pleasence taking out The Duke with a machine gun!

Snake Plissken is never dead.
