For the sophomore entry in our March Madness series, celebrating our favorite lunatics and crazies in film, we examine the 1983 gem 10 to Midnight; the movie that pits macho (Charles Bronson) against maniac (naked serial killer). Cannon Films decided to mash together a police procedural and a slasher flick, which left Cargill and I wondering why Bronson wasn’t sent in to Camp Crystal Lake to dispatch that pesky Jason Voorhees.
10 to Midnight is a fantastic, surprising, and morally complex thriller that serves as a fascinating counterpoint to the Death Wish flicks. Join us as we strip down this crazy good movie and propose the theory that Charles Bronson is cinema’s control group actor.
