Joel McHale Has Anna Faris’s ‘Number’

I thought about writing a hot breaking news story about how Joel McHale chatted up Anna Faris at a Los Angeles hot spot last night and walked away with digits, but it’s way too early in the morning for that.

Instead, how about a straightforward post about how yet another host of “Talk Soup” (stop denying The Soup’s roots, E!) is headed for acting glory? According to Hollywood Reporter, Joel McHale is the new Greg Kinnear.

He’s been cast alongside Anna Faris for the new romantic comedy What’s Your Number?. Apparently that number refers to the number of people that you’ve slept with – a number that troubles Faris’s character who decides to sift through the reject bin to see if she let The One get away.

McHale will play her boss, although I’m sure after enduring a full season of sexual tension between his character and Abed on “Community,” we’re all rooting for him to get some.

You’ll have your chance, McHale.

Plus, if anyone asks you to play the gay neighbor in a film starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt, jump at the chance. Trust me.

What’s your number?
