I wish I had one more rhyme for the title of this post to mirror the genius that looms on horizon for Jason Reitman fans. The Juno director told MTV Movies Blog that he’ll be writing a new film to helm at the end of the year – after his duties on Jennifer’s Body.
Without revealing much, Reitman said it would be like, “Thank You For Smoking, but instead of political it’s corporate”. He also mentioned that it would be an adaptation of a book. As of right now, it’s anyone’s guessing game as to which book it is. Being illiterate myself, I have little to offer to the list of possibles.
It’s good to see Reitman continue to handle difficult topics – he’s handled political smugness and teenage pregnancy with grace and humor. Plus, the other good news about the project is that there’s room for the director’s favorite actor J.K. Simmons who shined as Juno’s father. It looks like nothing but good things on the horizon for an incredible director with a fantastic future ahead of him.
