Horror’s most iconic Final Girl is set to return in Halloween.

Jamie Lee Curtis is set to return to her iconic role of Laurie Strode for the new Halloween movie set for October 2018. This new Halloween reboot will be written by the team of David Gordon Green and Danny McBride. Original series director John Carpenter said he is even interested in composing music for the new feature. This has all the makings of an utterly exciting chapter in the Halloween series.

There have recently been some concerns as to whether or not the film will hit its proposed release in October ’18. Well along with the casting announcement of Curtis, they have also settled on a firm release date of October 19th, 2018. It is exciting to have Curtis back in the fold. A much as Michael Myers is essential to the series, Curtis holds nearly as much significance. She appeared in the first two entries in the series and has since appeared two other times in Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and Halloween: Resurrection.

Producer Jason Blum is also in on the production. He is of the highly successful horror company that has released such hits as Get OutParanormal Activity, Insidious, and The Purge. We currently know that this new movie will take place after the events of Halloween 2, ignoring all the other entries in the series. Apparently, everyone involved is really excited about the script Green and McBride put together and there is a good reason to believe this will be significantly better than Rob Zombie’s attempts at the material. If Carpenter and Curtis are on board this might turn out to be really special.
