J.J. Abrams Secret ‘Super 8’ Teases Before ‘Iron Man 2’

J.J. Abrams is a man who can’t away from mystery. Whether intentional or not, the man’s work has led to him discussing the idea of secrets and secret-keeping (the last time in a huge editorial for Wired magazine).

For example, it is true that no one on earth except his parents know what the two Js stand for. Not even him. Don’t even bother looking it up because it’ll lead you on a wild goose chase of false positives.

Over at HitFix, Drew McWeeny wants to preserve that mystery but still balance out what we’ll see before Iron Man 2 when the trailers run. He’s got a great mini-profile of the director, and a few details about the movie that Abrams has kept completely secret until this week.

He also shares the TED presentation Abrams did back in early 2008 about Jaws, secrets, and The Mystery Box:

So we know the name is Super 8, and according to Drew, it’s rumored to be a sequel to Cloverfield. Interesting news, but doesn’t the fact that it’s a rumor only add to the mystery surrounding it?

I hope so.

You wanna know more about the film. You’ll have to head to the theater this weekend and watch the teaser for yourself.

Here’s to J.J. Abrams. And here’s to infinite potential.

What do you think?
