‘Indiana Jones’ Will Get Lost in the Bermuda Triangle

If there was one thing that fans hated about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull it’s that the magical realism of religion was tossed aside for a tale about aliens who had a love for polished glass. It didn’t seem right within the universe where, for whatever reason, a box with a bunch of angry, face-melting souls did.

So, as a fan, I find myself questioning whether to groan or start a slow clap with the news that Indiana and company are going to be headed for the Bermuda Triangle. Will this be the right brand of magical realism for the series?

According to Aint It Cool News, and at this point definitely a rumor, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas have worked on the script and settled on whip-cracking in Bermuda.

On one hand, it sounds sort of hokey. Sort of like the next adventure Captain Jack Sparrow should go on.

On the other hand, it sounds like it could be a welcome change. It could be the kind of middle ground between religion and extra terrestrial beings that could be a return to the opening of Temple.

That’s all up for debate, and would be speculative at this point, but according to the source, the CGI mess will not be returning to the next film. No, friends, they will focus on practicals. I imagine that involves tying Lucas to a chair somewhere.

Fortunately for all involved, Shia Labeouf will be returning as well.

What? It couldn’t be worse than Crystal Skull could it?
