Whips and Chains are exciting, but why not have guns and car chases as well.

The Fifty Shades of Grey franchise is nearing its conclusion. The best-selling series written by E.L. James has had titillating and unintentionally hilarious results in its film incarnation. Now, the final entry in the series, Fifty Shades Freed hits cineplexes this Valentine’s Day. Last time we saw Anatasia Steele she had tied the knot of her choice, finally becoming Mrs. Christian Grey. All should be well in their world, but there has to be drama somewhere to finish a trilogy.

Joining the cast this time around is sexy architect Gia Matteo, who doesn’t shy away from making her intentions known. Not to be outdone by just adding more sexual delights for Mr. Grey, Fifty Shades Freed adds plenty of more action. Epic car chases! Guns! Hand-to-hand combat! This doesn’t even account for the prerequisite BDSM the series is known for.

Why can’t these two people be left alone to enjoy their life of kink? And where did Anastasia learn to drive like that? Fifty Shades Freed will probably suit audiences who enjoyed the last two entries just fine and perhaps that’s where this series’ lofty goals end. The movies have never been for critics, but more for fans of the series to get their kicks seeing the incarnation of their favorite steamy novel.

Here is the official synopsis:

Believing they have left behind shadowy figures from their past, newlyweds Christian and Ana fully embrace an inextricable connection and shared life of luxury.  But just as she steps into her role as Mrs. Grey and he relaxes into an unfamiliar stability, new threats could jeopardize their happy ending before it even begins.

Returning to the director chair is James Foley and of course, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are back on board. Joining them are Marcia Gay Harden, Eric Johnson, Rita Ora, Luke Grimes, Tyler Hoechlin, and Jennifer Ehle.

Fifty Shades Freed will hit theaters on February 9, 2018.
