Efron Goes for Easy Money With ‘Snabba Cash’ Remake

Those who have been suggesting that Zac Efron break out of his High School Musical-esque typecasting may get their wish. The young actor is attached to star and produce Snabba Cash for Warners.

The flick is a remake of a popular Swedish thriller that Heat Vision Blog describes as being about

…a young financial wizard who hopes to strike it rich quickly by becoming a runner for a coke dealer.

So Efron’s squeaky clean image might be dosed in cocaine and re-laundered alongside dirty money. This could be a great opportunity for Efron to prove himself beyond his other Packed With Zac films and that image. Of course, with that opportunity also comes the chance that he’ll show his own limitations. Either way, it should be interesting to see.

Especially since he’ll probably be announced as on the list of people that the studio is thinking about calling for a lunch to talk about Spider-Man auditions.

The big question now is whether the title will drop the Swedish slang since it currently sounds like the name of an up-and-coming rapper.

On a side note: Neil should never challenge me to find “the biggest close-up of Zac Efron I can.”

What do you think?
