It’s time for good news/bad news here at FSR!

The good news is that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has announced a release date. The bad news is that, after this year’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, fans will have to wait two years sans the lightening-scarred sorcerer.

Our BFF’s over at /film are reporting that Warner Brothers is slating Hallows for a November 2010 release. Part Two of Hallows is slated for six months later, in May 2011 – the cinematic version of pointing to the outfield bleachers before the pitch.

I imagine it’s hard for the executives at the WB to estimate how many billions of human beings will be lined up to watch the last Potter film on opening day. Homework will go undone, babies left at home without sitters, and important cancer research sitting in abandoned laboratories on that fateful day in 2011.

It’s also easy to assume that the delay is to let some of the stars work on other projects. All three majors are involved in or have already landed separate gigs, and it’s understandable if they need some breathing room.

Get excited, Rejects! Deathly Hallows is only 1,350,700 minutes away from being released!
