And Now Josh Brolin Might Not Be Jonah Hex?

It turns out the star might not be interested in ripping half his face off to play an obscure comic book character. That’s right, Hex fans, I said ‘obscure.’

This is me officially giving up on covering anymore Jonah Hex casting news. It’s not like there’s been any definitive confirmation from anyone, but I feel like this project is so far from actually being at the pre-production stage and, yet, we’ve already heard way too much about the casting process. If you’re like me, you don’t want to know that sausage is made by shoving ground meat into stomach casings. Fittingly, this is also how casting decisions are made.

Of course, the latest actor to be shoved into the stomach casing of Jonah Hex is Josh Brolin, fresh from the (unwarranted) Oscar buzz surrounding his role in W.

Now, according to Frosty over at Collider (who we’re glad to see survived Comic-Con), Brolin might not even be interested in the role.

When asking about Hex, whether Brolin had met with Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor about the project, and whether he’d want to, Brolin answered either negatively or uncertainly. Apparently, no meeting has taken place, and he’s not even sure if he wants to do the project.

It turns out that the internet isn’t always right about casting information.

Mind. Blowing.

Since the role is completely up in the air at this point, the only thing left to do is argue over whether or not Brolin would make a great Jonah Hex or not. So…

What do you think? Is Brolin a great Hex or an awful choice? Would you like to see him in the role? Who might be better?
