With a movie like Almost Human, it’s always interesting to see what percentage of the budget was spent on fake blood and gore effects. At the very least, the trailer for Joe Begos’ flick – which is playing at TIFF’s Midnight Madness this year – makes it look like they bought all the caro syrup in the store.
The movie involves a guy named Mark (Josh Ethier) who returns a few years after mysteriously disappearing and begins cutting his way through human bodies left and right. His buddy Seth (Graham Skipper) thinks there’s something evil living inside of old Mark. Which seems like a pretty fair diagnosis.
